Real Ale Hop Filters – Top Hat / Fly Eye Cask Filters – 10 Pack

These Real Ale Hop Filters are designed for use with compatible 3/4" BSP cask taps, helping prevent hops, sediment and other larger particles from entering the beer line during traditional cask ale dispense.

Also commonly known as Top Hat Filters or Fly Eye Filters, they fit onto compatible cask tap arrangements and provide a simple first stage of filtration between the cask and dispense line.

Ideal for pubs, breweries, beer festivals, taprooms and other traditional real ale dispense systems.

Supplied as a pack of 10 hop filters.

Cask Ale Hop Filters

Cask-conditioned beer can contain hop material, sediment and other particles that may be drawn towards the cask tap during dispense.

A hop filter provides a physical barrier at the cask outlet, helping reduce the amount of larger debris entering the product line and associated dispense equipment.

Top Hat / Fly Eye Filter

The distinctive filter design is commonly referred to within the drinks dispense trade as either a Top Hat Filter or Fly Eye Filter.

It is positioned at the cask tap connection to help prevent larger particles from travelling further through the beer line.

Helps Protect Cask Ale Pipework

Reducing the amount of hop material and sediment entering the beer line can help prevent larger particles travelling into:

  • Cask ale hose
  • Check valves
  • Beer engines
  • Hand-pull equipment
  • Other downstream dispense fittings

The filter does not remove fine sediment or clarify the beer itself.

Cleaning & Reuse

These filters can be reused when properly cleaned and maintained.

Inspect the filter regularly and replace it if the mesh or body becomes damaged, excessively blocked or difficult to clean.

All reusable cask dispense equipment should be cleaned in accordance with the appropriate beer line and cellar cleaning procedures.

Important

These filters are designed for compatible traditional cask ale systems and should not be confused with inline beer filters used in other draught dispense applications.

Check compatibility with your cask tap and connection arrangement before ordering.
