Beer Flow Controller – 3/8" Push-Fit Inlet x 5/16" Outlet

The Beer Flow Controller is an adjustable inline restrictor designed to control the flow rate of draught beer and other compatible beverages. Commonly installed beneath the beer font, it allows the resistance in the product line to be adjusted to suit the dispense setup.

Featuring a 3/8" push-fit inlet and 5/16" push-fit outlet, the controller can be used to transition from larger product pipework to 5/16" beer line while providing manual adjustment of the dispense flow.

Simply turn the adjustment collar to increase or decrease the restriction through the controller.

Correct flow rate is an important part of setting up a draught beer system.

The Beer Flow Controller provides adjustable resistance within the product line, allowing the dispense speed to be altered without repeatedly changing the length of reducer pipe.

How a Beer Flow Controller Works

The controller introduces adjustable resistance into the beer line.

Turning the adjustment collar changes the restriction through the fitting, allowing the flow at the tap to be increased or decreased according to the requirements of the dispense system.

This makes it useful when commissioning or balancing a draught installation where the required flow rate needs to be adjusted at the dispense point.

3/8" Inlet to 5/16" Outlet

The controller incorporates different pipe sizes on each side:

• 3/8" push-fit inlet for compatible product pipe
• 5/16" push-fit outlet for compatible beer line

This allows the controller to provide both flow adjustment and a transition between 3/8" and 5/16" pipework within a single component.

Important

A flow controller can help balance the dispense rate but should not be used to compensate for other faults within a draught system.

Excessive foaming or poor dispense can also be caused by incorrect gas pressure, product temperature, cooler performance, dirty beer lines or an incorrectly balanced system.

Always ensure the complete dispense system is correctly set up before adjusting the flow controller.
